It's Jail Holmes... It's Supposed to Suck.

The next map up for Combat Evolved Anniversary is another classic we all spent much time on. [That's assuming you enjoyed and/or spent time in the original Halo's multiplayer like I did.]
Even if you didn't, you'll still be able to appreciate the artistic improvements, not to mention the sheer awe, when you see what they had to work with to build the eye-candy they now call a map.

I get ahead of myself, you don't even know what map to which I am speaking; and that would be Prisoner. To us veterans, that map should jump straight from the past to the forefront of your memory. [At which your brain will do it's 'thang', and you'll be able to pretty much see it with your minds eye as if you were looking at it right in front of you.] "The mind is a terrible thing... and it must be stopped!" [Wait, that's not right....] Any-way, you'll remember the layout, the colors,  and most importantly that race to the rocket launcher and the hours of laughs that map alone afforded you.

Below I am pleased to show you a quick Before-and-After of what once was Prisoner now known as Solitary. You'll get a chance to see the difference from roughly the same, famed, perspective. Then a small wave of pixel infested goodness will follow like an entree of eye deliciousness. You'll find your mouth a'water'n and your fingers a'twitch'n for some good ol'fashoned Halo style action. [If not, then that's not natural, do you even have hands?! ...maybe you should see a doctor about that.]

Prisoner (Before) In all it's former glory.

[If you wish not too strain for detail, click on the image for a lager version.]

Solitary (After) It's the new hotness!

[Like I said, clickity-clack to make it bigger.]

Side Note: You'll notice that this image takes place directly across from the original photo, but you get the desired effect none-the-less.

And as I promised a mini-cascading medley of Solitary's artistic splendor. [This is going to be fantastic!]

Now that's get'n it done!

Later!

  1. Really good graphics...I didn't see the old stuff, but this sure looks good! Rather industrial.

Also, the comment on the "mind". Here is a link to the comedian and the routine from where that came from: http://joozly.com/blog/2010/06/bob-nelsons-hilarious-football-routine/
