A Chat with Mark.

Hey ya'll, I had a post planned for today that had absolutely nothing to do with the post your reading right now. [Now hold on there, I know what you're thinking. "GASP! He's altered the plan! He's deviated from the original course of fate and now we'll never know what the post was going to be about because the space time continuum has ruptured due to your impromptu change in the post; resulting in a cataclysmal explosion of apocalyptic proportions!" OK so, First: take a breath you nutter. Second: Chillax with your buddy Mr.Chill Pill because I'll just post today's original story tomorrow. OK? The world ain't gonna end 'cause of a little change. Heck if I hadn't mentioned the deviation in the first place you wouldn't be breathing through a paper bag right now. So cool your jets bub, it's all cool, okay? Jeez..]

*Ahem* I digress, a lot... Also, I know that ya'll aren't actually "Nutters". I know that's not true.... of most of you. One or two of you are probably insane. [Just say'n Bats folks.]

Aside from the minor shift here, tonight blog is all about a really cool video that serves as a blast from the past. I was perusing YouTube and stumbled on an interview centered on Mark Hamill who played as Joker in Batman: The Animated Series. It's a fun watch and it brings a smile to your face.

[Riding around in traffic with Mark while he does the Joker would be ridiculously awesome.]

Spend Some Time With a Red Tail

[Opens January 20th]

I don't know if you've had an opportunity to see the trailer for the upcoming air action flick "Red Tails" or not, but you're about to get a good look at it now.  Rad Tails is a Lucas Arts film [Yeah, the Star Wars guy.] and it's about a WWII fighter squadron commonly referred to as the Tuskegee Airmen. I'd go into more detail but, the Official Site is a much better way to get acquainted with the movie and the hero's it honors in the film. The website is interactive, with cool facts about the characters, planes, and important places of action. Below is a kick'n clip from the movie. Enjoy!

[Anybody else going to see this? It looks amazing!]

C'mon, who doesn't like the sound of P-51's engine?

Geocache Raider

[It's hard to get over how real she looks]

Crystal Dynamics, the creators of the picture above and the Tomb Raider reboot have formed a partnership with Geocashing.com and they're going to be doing to be hiding swag around Geo hotspots for you go a-hunt'n for with your GPS or GPS equipped Smartphone. So if you're into Geocashing or you've never heard of it and might be interested. This is a cool way to get you started. I have a few friends that enjoy Geocashing so this might peak their interest. Right now there isn't any specifics but, let everyone pray you don't have to fight for your life against monsters, private militaries or just regular old fashioned douche-bags to get at the Tomb Raider swag.

Casey Hudson talks to Game Informer

[Okay, so all we have to do is kill the Reapers? A species that's been successfully committing galactic genocide for billions of years? Pfft I'm a human, no prob dude...don't sweat it."]

Casey Hudson, the brains behind the Mass Effect story at BioWare had a little sit down with Game Informer and talked Mass Effect 3. Casey pointed out differences between mission and story stricter, a few mechanic and how Shepard can use more natural skill to traverse a world and explore. You'll have ladder you can access, obstacles you can more fluidly leap, mount, or hurdle; even gaps to leap across. Shepard will also execute "mini-cutscenes" as he reacts to the environment. [Think Uncharted an how Drake reacted to his environment]

One thing that really struck me and really got a hold of me was a major story element. Here's a direct quote.

There is a progression mechanic to the story, however, which is that it is in a way almost a World War II story. Since everyone is involved, you want the war to go well so that you have high morale and you have people that are going to fight. You want to conquer territories so that you have lots of assets at your disposal. That’s part of what you’re doing as Commander Shepard is the war to obtain all these assets. Some of those come through in the high-level story – large campaigns that involve entire civilizations. What you do in those missions to resolve those storylines will give you some really big assets, like the Quarian fleet, massive armies, and stuff like that. - Casey Hudson

I'm a bit of a WWII guy and so the connection there hits a home-run for me; because it paints a vibrant picture in my head of how this tussle between Shepard and the Reapers is gonna go down.
If you'd like to see more you can follow this link for the full interview

[OK so... I'm sold. They can have my money. Just tell which way to throw it and they can swim in it for all I care. I just really, really wanna play this game!]

A Year in Review.

[I know you wish you had their job sometimes.]

I know we're working our way to the halfway mark of the first month of 2012; but Freddie Wong and Brandon Laatsch have been looking back. [Only for a brief moment though!] Well, okay, as brief as putting together all the best action from each and every video they made over the course of last year. [So yeah, that probably took what? Ten minutes? Eleven tops....]
So below is a sweet bit of collective epicness that will make you laugh, smile, and cry from all the laughing. [You know, if you like sweet explosions, shooting and quality action humor] I do.

[Here's to an Epic 2012]

Bring in the New Year With Sytle.

[New Year, Means New Toys]

And we're back. Brought to you by the year 2012 and bristling with the new hotness you've come to expect from my blog. I know I've been gone a while and I'll it to you straight. I like having a holiday infused vacation. [Mostly because everyone else is too and the news around the webz can suck around this time of year!]

Have no fear because I return along with the returning flow of gaming goodies! I'm picky, I'll admit it, as picky as a cactus is prickly, so I wasn't coming out of my vacation for just anything. Nope, on the best for my readers! No, I return because the first of the 2012 juggernauts is digging in for it's release early next moth. [I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself.] So below, is a video that's enough to make you salivate like a starving wolf inches from a plate of steaming, seasoned, 26oz, prime cut beef, swimming in Worcestershire sauce. [Crap, now I'm hungry!]

Enjoy!

[This is why everybody likes GameStop]
