Uncharted: Rumor Reduction.

The Uncharted movie is understandably swimming in a sea of rumors. [C'mon, the movie and video game world is partly famous for their rumors.]
Rumor's are a great way to get the idea out to the public.
[Or just a annoying way for developers, or over excited fans, to screw with interested parties.]

First off, a few questions were sent to Naughty Dog. Asking about any details.
Questions like the completely out of whack David O'Russle quote [The Director of said movie], claiming to be after that "family dynamic" in the Uncharted movie. Any fan of the series that's played the games was plagued with a gigantic WTF! [I know, that was my reaction]

Justin Richmond, [Creative Director of Uncharted 3] received questions about the rumor at a recent press event. He laughed. "First of all, all that stuff was denied by David O. Russell," Richmond said. "He actually called us up and was like, 'I don't know what these guys are talking about.'"

Good news Nathan Fillion fans! [As a matter of fact, good news Nathan Fillion!]
According to Naughty Dog and David O'Russle, Mark Wahlberg isn't anywhere near to being confirmed to play Nathan Drake.
Apparently it's just another bucket-load of Hollywood nonsense.
Like any other sane Uncharted fan, we all shout loudly into the air that we will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence... wait, no I'm off track. We want Nathan Fillion to get the role. [Yeah, that's what I meant.]

Anyway, more info is pouncing up from Naughty Dog for this highly anticipated game. Even if it is scheduled to come out next year. [I.e. Nov 2011]

They've released a few videos of early game-play and it already looks amazing; but why shouldn't it. They get to start off on technology used for the previous game. In one sense, most of the early work is already done.
Just below is a sweet link

[McLinkey]----->http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/28/uncharted-3-gameplay-footage/

Last and most definitely not least. Our goober friends at Robot Chicken did a small spot promoting the game. Force Unleashed 2 which has already come and gone, but the video is still funny.

That about covers it.

You're not thinking 4th dimensionally!

[Yeah, I have a real problem with that]

Back to the Future, everybody knows about this movie, even if that haven't seen it; and if you haven't that's fine. I won't judge you. [What do you mean you haven't seen it?! I am so judging you right now]

From the unforgettable original score to the the thrilling story. Not to mention the times traveling Delorean!

Some wished for a fourth movie, others prayed for a worthy game counterpart.

Well today, you get both.... essentially.

[I know, I know, I'm making that face too Doc]----->

Game Developer TellTale released today the first of five episodes. (i.e.  Smaller type Games) of the classic title. The story picks up shortly after the third movie ends.

Doc's in trouble and it's up to Marty once again to save his time travel'n butt. It's focus is aimed a tad bit more toward the casual gamer. [What does that mean?] It means that you won't be straining yourself to play/and/or/win. It's about the fun.

The graphics aren't "Knock you on your but awesome" but it's solid enough. The story and the characters are what keeps it firmly in place.

Sadly Michael J. Fox couldn't reprise his role as Marty, but Christopher Lloyd was more than happy to jump back into the Time Machine.

The kid who steps in for Mr.Fox does a near perfect impression and delivers a solid performance. At time you might actually forget it's not Michael.

This game is oosing with nostalgia, and the original score pumps that traditional Back to the Future feel that you just have to turn it up loud, even to a point that Huey Lewis would disapprove of decibel level. [Just too darn loud]

I think this is just too cool. It should be that I've got to go out and get it, which means I"m OUTATIME. on this post. ;P

Below is a link to their website and a trailer for the game which is lots of fun!

Dust; Crysis 514

 <------ [I'll get the "Trench Broom" ;)]

First, for those of you whom don't understand the term above, "Trench Broom," refers to a smaller type fire arm designed for full auto fire with the intent to clear hostiles from a combat trench. (i.e. Sub-Machine Gun)
One of the most popular "Trench Brooms" had another clever name that is far more easily recognizable, the "Tommy Gun" or the Thompson M1A1.

Aside from my bunny trail here, let's talk DUST - 514.

It was announced roughly a year ago, give/or/take a month. This is a F.P.S. (1st Person Shooter) and the first of it's kind. This is a massive endeavor for publisher CCP. They're making something that to date, has not been done. Dust is a console game, X-Box 360, PS3 and so one.

CCP makes the ever popular computer game and online experience E.V.E.
E.V.E. is a galaxy all in it's self. If you want an idea it's a M.M.O.R.P.G. (Or a Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game) [Sheesh] A huge game like W.O.W. (World of Warcraft) Except this one is based in the future where countless planets, fleets of ships and billions of people exist, be they NPCs or the actually players.

Let be get back on track here. Dust 514 is what happens when you cross HALO or Call of Duty with a M.M.O.R.P.G. like E.V.E. and the freaky hybrid that emerges is the astounding, DUST-514 F.P.S.

The core game-play features intense ground combat that takes place on the surface of planets below the payers of E.V.E.

DUST 514's foundation is a mix of battlefield reflexes and strategic planning. It allows commanders and ground infantry to work together, utilizing the real time configurable modular weapons and vehicles at their disposal to adapt to and control dynamic battlefield conditions.

DUST 514 ain't your average shooter. It lives on a connection with E.V.E. In a sense a "True Virtual Reality." The planets that you fight on in DUST will be the same planets that EVE pilots see and interact with in space. Both worlds will be linked in such a way that cooperation between players is optional, but beneficial to both if accepted.

Dust nestles itself in the vast space of E.V.E.'s universe. Now here's what makes it special, it's connected to E.V.E. but it's not that game. DUST puts players on the X-Box under the employment of factions on the computer based game. Basically, you fight on the planets they tell you too. If you win on your game, they win on their game, if you loose, they loose.

E.V.E's entire economy can shift based on YOU, the players actions here, on the virtual battle field. With a controller in your hand, a rifle and a few good friends. You'll be kicking up dirt for those on the PC.

CCP has taken their flagship game and paired with a genre that it wouldn't normally have worked with.

Below in the fist trailer for DUST and it is gorgeous! It's just shy of two minutes long, it's worth every second.

[It should be illegal to be this awesome.]------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzVjggarRns&feature=player_embedded

[Somebody please tell me where I can get armor like this! I got's to know, I got's ta have!] ----->

And lastly, I want to show you Crysis 2. I'm going to spare you the lengthy description like I did with DUST for another post; but what I wanted to point out is, there has never been a game that will take a stronger toll one your PC. So much so that you need the UBER $$$ to deck out your computer enough to even play. Have a look at this tailer, see what I mean.

[McAWESOME Linkey] ------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYmrWTQ69ro

This game has an emphasis on realism. You should have noticed something like that in the trailer.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy. Oh and Anyone else want "this" to be a movie? I know I do. ;)

L.A. Noire.

<-----[Tommy, look at dem letta's. You'd think we'd have seen them up there before now...]

L.A. Noire caught my attention originally because you're a Detective in a 1940's L.A.
Another point was the developers are the famed Rock-Star Studios. You'll know them from titles like Grand Theft Auto and Read Dead Redemption. These guy are good! They focus on high, even exceptional detail in their expansive cities. They've thrown a curve ball at their fans. On the bright side it's an exciting prospect and a different angle of gaming. Instead of that full "Free Roam" feel, they've gone a bit more linear. Whereas they still offer a huge, detailed 1940's L.A., Driving and gun-play, it's not the focus of this story. The focus is Interrogation of suspects. This is where the game's full attention is, it's L.A. Noire's magic zone. Where they fully intend to knock you on your butt and make you go. "Is this really JUST a game?"

Some key points to draw potential players in is the use of actual cases done by the LAPD way back when. Now they've changed names and details here and there, even added endings to several unsolved cases; but the idea here is to set a tone of authenticity. To go, yes it's a game, but yes, this stuff really happened. It's not your normal approach to a video game. Excluding any shooter based on any number of are actual wars.

Every single character in this game was acted by a real man or woman, even down to the lowly NPC walking the streets! They'll look at you, walk with you and even respond too you. You bust out running after a suspect and they'll jump out of the way, get frightened and hide, even get angry and yell at you as you run by.
If you can trust them, they'll even point in the direction the bad guy ran if you loose sight of him in a hotel, diner, market whatever. They criminal might even have a friend in the crowed who'll tell you "He went  that way" just to get you off the trail!

Now like I said, interrogation is the key focal point. You'll spend a lot of the game having a face to face with suspects and witnesses alike. You're job it so read them, to listen to them. Look for lies, find the truth. It's amazing. To aid in every scene, every character used MoCap (Motion Capture) to attain every single detail, from big to small. If someones lying to you, you'll know, because the face you see, is the actual actors face, digitized!

We're talking awesome here folks.
Below is a link they released, and in this video you'll see the actors reading their lines, making video game history, making movie magic, in the palm of your hand. This is where games are going in terms of presentations. I can only imagine what they'll think of next...

Uncharted: Pirates?

<----[I know Drake, I'm making that face too.]

This is a simple and easy post. Not a lot of dialog, just this tidbit. Some Uncharted news and a surprise movie trailer.

First, Uncharted is a year away, but if next year feels like it goes by as fast as 2010, then November is right around the corner.
Uncharted: Drake's Deception releases on an easy to remember 11/11/2011/ [It's like they planned that.]

At least one behind the scenes video has already come out and you get sweet sneak peaks, some different stages of its development. It's juicy eye-candy from this already epic game, that and Jimmy Fallon got to play a few minutes of it on TV with the games director. Not too shabby. [You lucky dog!]

And now for the bonus surprise trailer.

[Surprise McLinkey]-----> http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi161323033/

Honestly, I'm actually surprised by this. It looks like it could really be good. It definitely has more potential than what they passed off as the 3rd movie. Looks like a new director, kinda went back to the fun feel they were going for back during the 1st movie. I'm not going to get my hopes up for it to not be terrible, but it actually looks good and funny. Here's to the possibility!

Later!

Uncharted: Anticipation.

Ladies and Gentlemen, that handsome... [Down ladies, DOWN! Ack!.....] Ahem... That uh, handsome stud you see there is me.

<------- [Handsome Stud]

Many of you whom have read my blog know a few things about me now. In the form of interests you know I'm an avid HALO fan and for the apposing system, the Powerful PS3, I'm an major fan of the Uncharted series.

And! As many of you know, if a post has "Uncharted:" in it, it's a safe bet I'm talking about the Hollywood quality blockbuster game with the same title. This afternoon I got the first glimmer of the best thing I've see all year for the PS3. Where as we'll be enjoying a Novel sooner-than-later and eventually a Movie. [My hopes aren't exactly, "up" for the movie, but I do pray it's good.]

Now, come Fall [Most likely] of 2011 Uncharted returns! The third installment of this unparalleled series is mysteriously titled;

                                       [oooh!] ---------->

Now we're talking pure excitement here. The lucky stiffs at "Entertainment Weekly" got their paws on the first demo from publisher Naughty Dog, and like any sane person here. We're all infuriatingly jealous!
Drake and oldest friend Sully are hunting a lost city. This search will take them all the way to the Arabian Peninsula and Rub' al Khali Desert.  The story points not only return to the historic life of Sir Francis Drake [like the original game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune] but also British Army officer and archeologist T.E. Lawrence [as in"of Arabia".]

 <-------- [I'm going to feint...]

Naughty Dog is pushing to go beyond Uncharted: Among Thieves. [That would be game #2] with improvements like the ability to enter into hand to hand combat with more than one opponent. Or expand on a far improved and finely tuned multi-player experience. Best thing is, the V.G.A.'s [Video Game Awards] that airs on Dec 11th is rumored have a game-play trailer! Even if they don't there definitely will be a Uncharted Trailer of some sort.

Allow me to whet your appetite with this painfully short, teasing, teaser trailer. Also, gotta shout out a thanks to my bff's at joystiq.com. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have gotten to hear about this untill the V.G.A.'s.

[Drake's McLinky] ---> http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/09/uncharted-3-goes-3d-first-gameplay-demo-on-fallon-dec-13/

I can hardly contain myself I'm so excited!
Enjoy folks.

Close... But Still No Cigar.

<----- [Oooh, Pretty Lights...]

Christmas is almost upon us and there's still so much that stands between us and the famous holiday. Like a crap load of seconds, hours and a few days.

Besides a few Christmas presents here and there to purchase. Whether or not you're that last minute shopper, early bird or somewhere in-between; there's more than just the Holiday Hooplah to focus on.
Let me, for a moment, distracted you from the Shopping, Business parties decked out like Chris Kringle's living room, or visiting family and friends. What I've got here is a sweat gift from your Ol'Pal Fox. I wrapped it myself!

It's a little bit of "Awww" and a whole lot of "Yeah!" tightly wrapped in a helping layer of Awesome, with a B.A. bow on top of it to seal the deal. [I better hurry up and show this too you before it goes any further and I start charging for viewings.]

Can't think of what you want to get that special someone for Christmas? [Even if that "Special Someone" is you? If you're selfish and you don't know what to get yourself? That's pretty sad, Sheesh...]
Have no fear, Fox is here, for both your caring and possibly selfish desires.

[McLinky]----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivPheV77JcU&feature=player_embedded

It's 100% Street Legal and yes, it is just as AWESOME as I made it out to be. It could be yours for a measly 55k. ['Cause everybody has that kind of petty cash lying around.....right?]

According to Autopia, the vehicle weighs 474 pounds, is over 100" long and 23" wide, with the rider lying 28.5"

It looks amazing, it is amazing and as you might imagine difficult to ride due to the size of the tires and the way the driver is positioned; but when it comes down to it... It's  Light-Cycle! No body friggin cares if it's slightly uncomfortable to drive. At least for 20-30 Min. I'd totally drive it!

Go see Tron: Legacy on December 17th. They aren't paying me to say that and I'm not being sponsored. I'm only telling you what any sane person would. So go see the friggin movie or nobody will want to talk to you 'cause you're the weirdo who doesn't see cool stuff. ;)

Guns, Movies, Frying Pans and YOU!

 [Because enough, is never, enough.]

I read some good quotes from some famous men in history. I really enjoyed them. What they said was not only right, but it was intelligently worded. Where are our leaders with such wisdom, who can create words and phrases to be recited for decades to come?
[I'll give you a hint, only a man who follows the Big Guns (i.e GOD!) will have the wisdom to speak forth legendary words.] Until that happens, enjoy reading up on your History, at least it's a scrap of proof that smart people existed. ;)

[Now I know what your thinking, either it's, "DANG STRAIGHT!" and for that I thank you for your most enthusiastic agreement. it warms my heart so.... or that's not what your thinking and I wonder why were friends......]

Enough with the lead in. Here are the quotes.

"From the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurrences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace, security and happiness; the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference - They deserve a place of honor with all that's good."
- George Washington

"To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them" - George Mason

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike; especially when young, how to use them."
- Richard Henry Lee

Gun control is hitting where you aim. Because Gun Control is not about Guns, it's about Control.

Welcome back to the game, if your just joining us it's; Fourth & Awesome at the bottom of the second quarter.

[And it's good. A solid kick from the...1...yard line. Why did they kick?!"

Let's face it, some kids out there are crafty. [The good kind, not the "I don't trust him... he's crafty." kind]
To some this might be old news, to others this is a fresh set of Awesome for your eyeballs.

[McLinky]------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UIdI8khMkw&feature=player_embedded

[And THAT's how you walk into Mordor.]

When I watch this video I keep hearing this old line. "And look at'em go, and look at'em go, HE COULD...GO...ALL..THE...WAY!"

Now I know what your thinking. "Gah! That's epic. He just walked right through! Why don't we see more, clever, plays in the NFL?" I'm sure you could come up with a hundred different reasons, it still doesn't change the fact that there aren't enough mind games played out there on the field. The defensive coach on a typical game only has to worry about four or five different styles of play. Is it gonna kick? or maybe try the running game, maybe a fake, or maybe a pass.

Imagine a game where they allowed for a little more trickery, maybe if the guys could put a clever, competitive edge to the mix. I don't know everything about football, and I don't know all the rules. Me as a fan, IMHO, I just want to see some original plays. A little variety other than run three, throw on the forth, run three, throw on the forth. Or wait 'till it's two minutes in the fourth quarter to see your team actually try.

I'm a Cowboys fan, I don't like them being known as the "Two minute Team" or the "Second Halfers."
C'mon guys, let's try from the get go, you know... mix things up a little.

Anyways I'm out, enjoy that awesome play.

Uncharted: In Writing

[What do you mean it isn't another game?]

First two games, now we're getting a movie, what more could you want? [A book? Seriously, you greedy little... There is absolutely no chance that...oh hey, they're writing an official novel!]

In a recent post Publisher Del Ray commented that author, Christopher Golden, will pen the novel; UNCHARTED: The Fourth Labyrinth.

Now what they're saying is that this is a completely original story, separate from the games. [Duh! That's what separate means]

From what I read, Drake is in search of a yet another secret that lands him on the trail of the legendary labyrinth of Daedalus. From here it's on to the ruins of Crete, then to a secret crypt deep in the heart of China!

I for one am looking forward to a novelization of Nathan Drake. This should prove to be a good read, I"m certainly hopeful. I'll let you guys know later when there's a release date.

For this final bit of kewlness.
I wanted to show you something.

SO....MUCH....NEWS! (Danger, Danger, Head May 'Asplode)

There is so much news coming down the pipe that it should be illegal.

[I said "Should", please don't call the cops]

This isn't some cheesy attempt to distract you from the fact that it's be entirely too long since I updated. [Maybe....]

I've got lots for you today! [And by "lots" I mean somewhere between "Ouch!" and "Poing!]

*Cracks Knuckles*
Let's change the scene, alter the mood, electrify the boys and girls. If' you'd be so kind. [Turns out, I am so kind]

[Let's roll] ---------McAwesome!----->

Tron Legacy is just around the corner already and more schtuff is popping up. [The good Schtuff!]
We're seeing more previews, better previews, and getting our first taste of the delicious Original Score; but let's face it, this is like a salad with high presentation. It looks good and it taste good; but ultimately, it leaves you hungrier and only wanting the main course just that much more.

In talks of Original Score, the French Duo known as "Daft Punk" are kicking the new score into Awesome Gear. [If you don't know Daft Punk, then do you mind me asking what kind of drapes you use under that rock? Because it's time to stop staring at the drapes, open'em up, look out the window, catch some sunlight, and oh..... GET OUT FORM UNDER THE ROCK! It looks heavy, it might be dangerous. I'm only thinking of your safety....]
If you are already familiar with the Blue Oyster....Uh, I mean.... Daft Punk. Awesome.
If you just Googled them and now know, also awesome. Their work on this upcoming blockbuster is Top NOTCH! I already wanna buy the Original Score and start jamming.

I know you're gonna wanna see this, below is the newest trailer and OMG, it just oozes of that sweet "New Hotness" goodness.

[McLinky] ------------> http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1158650137/
[If you suffer from Dy-Hyperlink-aphobia, tough go WATCH IT anyway! Be a man.]

SUBJECT NUMBA TWO!

[And who said being blue was bad?]

James Cameron has signed on to do not, one but two, sequels to AVATAR.
[C'mon, like that wasn't gonna happen.]

He's going to start on the writing process sometime early next year and as of now, the release date for both movies is December 2014 and 2015.
[It's a ways out I know, I can already here you going "AWWW!" at the wait time.]

SUBJECT NUMBA THREE!

You know what goes good with the number three? Batman.
[Yup, I wouldn't have guessed that either, but it would've been my second guess.]

July of 2012 Bats will be doing his freaky thing in Gotham City.
The title of said movie is. "The Dark Knight Rises" [So I imagine Bruce was sitting, and uh decided to get off his FANNY!...and do another movie about his Vigilante Alter Ego.]

Regardless of the obvious meaning behind the title and your attempt to forget my explanation. That's some serious Movie news and it's all, oh so juicy. I'm seriously pumped about this cinematic explosion.
Were do I buy the tickets?

Uncharted: Nathen's Wish

 <------- [ "I am Ruggedly Handsome Aren't I?" ]

<------ [ "Captain Hammer's here, hair blowing in the breeze, the day needs my saving expertise. :p ]

It's funny sometimes when you have a conversation, about a person, or a car, or a movie, and they begin to pop up in exactly the way you spoke of.
Know what I mean?

"uh... maybe, be more specific Fox." -

Now I don't use Twitter, but it doesn't mean I don't hear what's being posted now and then, especially the Uber popular schtuff that you can't seam to avoid. In this case however the Tweet I caught wind of.

[I know what your saying, your saying, "Eww!" Well, I didn't mean farts! Nor did I mean "High Pitched Fart" When I used the word "Tweet"..... you guys seriously, we got to come to some kind of an understanding.]

Nathan Fillion. [The Ruggedly Handsome Guy You Saw Above] wants very much to get the role of "Nathan Drake" in the up coming Uncharted: Drakes' Fortune Movie Adaption. !! O.O !!

He's a perfect fit, in my book and just the guy I'd want playing Drake.

Uncharted: Fox's Blogg!

<-------- [Elana - "Drake... Be careful."]

<----------[Nate - "Hey, it's me." *Turns around and smashes his head on a low hanging column*]

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one the best series on the PlayStation 3, and personally, it's my favorite.
It's like watching a movie as you play. Superb graphics, excellent voice acting, and a kick-ass story punctuated by a "BlockBuster"quality Original Score; added to that is the smooth controls, good camera angles, fun puzzles and sweet cover based combat. It's a modern day Indiana Jones, and it's all Awesome!

"Fox, this is all well and good, but why are we talking about this?"

OH! You ask too soon! [Speedy Mc'Don't listen] I"m getting to that!

Well, like all great games, some studio want's to make it a feature film!
and this guy ---->David O. Russell <------- [Yeah, him]
As it appears, he's now signed a deal to both write and direct a film version of the critically acclaimed Naughty Dog title.

Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures, commented: “David is a tremendous choice to take on this film, He’s equally adept at combining all the classic elements involved in this property: great character development, strong comedy and amazing action sequences."

I"m stoked, this is an Awesome Game, and would probably be a thrilling novel, but a MOVIE.   !! O.O !!

Bang Bang....You're Derezzed.

<------ [Super Scope = Super Awesome]

The Super Scope was a hit for a few reasons.

* 1 it was a GUN!
* 2 it shot the little birdies you just hated on that old Duck Hunt game.
* 3 it was a GUN!

"But Fox!" You say, "You said GUN Twice!"  [Yes well.... I like Guns....]

Aside from the trip down memory lane. (Trips on a bar labeled "Memory Lane") [You know, if your not going to get my jokes, we should just stop hanging out.... if you did get the joke, Hooray! *High-fives*]

Playstation is using the brain, they've picked up on the Awesome that the Super Scope was and brought the masses a true re envisioning of a video game Gun.

Here's the Link for the JoyStiq page with the info.

Do the Math, Blow Some Minds

<------- {Oh the complicated number OOOH!]

This is just a quick burst from my end tonight. Don't miss "Blue Bloods" on Channel 11 at 9:00pm central. That's the new cop show with Tom Selleck and Donnie Donnie Wahlberg. Don't miss it!

Now for the original intent behind tonight's post.
They just can't help one upping people, even themselves!

[Keep it Clean!] -------------->

Bungie dropped an updated list of figures based on what they've seen us doing with their new game.

  • "On Tuesday, 09/14/2010 at approximately 1:30 pm PST, just a few hours after launch, Halo: Reach’s online unique user count had already completely eclipsed Halo 3’s total tally for the entirety of the week (09/13 through 09/20).
  • To account for the same number of online players found in Halo: Reach during that same window (just six days), They had to run the numbers for Halo 3 going all the way back to 8/6/2010, encompassing a full 45 days of Halo 3 play!
  • Ultimately, Halo: Reach’s online population for the first week dwarfed Halo 3’s by comparison, snagging four times the number of total unique users and decimating Halo 3’s all time high of concurrent users by more than 65%.

And, of course, the requisite numerical absurdities:

  • 70 Million+ Games have been played
  • 235 Million+ Player-Games have been played
  • 2 Million+ Files have been uploaded to File Shares
  • 5,901 man-years have been spent in online Reach games (sorry, Corporate America!)
  • 20 Million Daily challenges have been completed
  • 709,840 Weekly challenges have been completed
  • 165 Billion Credits have been earned"

They're so good, they're spanking themselves! What do you do when your so Awesome you make yourself look bad, by making yourself look so, so good! [Don't try to figure that out, I stopped once the headaches kicked in. I'm doing you a favor...really.]

And that concludes my broadcast night. Good'night!

Book'em Danno

 <----- [One word. Awesome]

So Hawaii 50 returned yesterday and it was great. My Dad, a watcher of the original enjoyed the new take on a classic. I enjoyed it very much.

Most of the fall line-up is kicking in, and the good ol'tube is warmed up for a good run. Don't miss the good schtuff on air!

A movie that might be good, maybe you should write up your opinion in the comments below....maybe.

It should give you an idea of how much the came rocks.

31,000,000 Games have been played since launch

98,000,000 Player-games have been recorded

8,214,338 Daily Challenges have been completed

255,996 Weekly Challenges have been completed

Glassed from the Past.

[HALO - Reach is set before the event of the original game, HALO: Combat Evolved.]

<-------- {Ahhhh sweet!]

September 14th has come and gone, HALO: Reach is in the hands of millions of players at the kill count is rising at an alarming rate. I finished the campaign, the main story, and it was truly something else. As if I didn't already expect it, the music was phenomenal and just as good as I could have hoped. Even better in some places. It had the right edge to it, really something.

In other topics I got a quote from my Dad today. I wanna know your thoughts on it. Here is a copy of the contents of said email.

---------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes you are encouraged about our country's future when you see something like this -
Specifically, there is an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term. This year's term was "Political Correctness."

The winner wrote:

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Space.... it's black'n stuff.

<-------[That's space...yeah..big, don't you feel small.]

As you've noticed from this websites header I'm an Author, I've been working on a series known as ROAM. Here's an excerpt. You lucky dog you.

__________________________________________________________________

April 1st
2014

He placed his boot off the curb and sent a small spray of water onto his pant leg. Normally he’d be pissed, just what he needed, a wet leg; but today he was on a mission, on top of that he was wearing his tank boots and so, he couldn’t even feel the moist muddy water on his black pants. His attention turned to the promising sky. The clouds were finally breaking up and once again the crystal blue sky shone brightly through. It was ridiculous, how could the sky become cloudy for days? It’s not like the Artificial Weather Center (AWC for short.) has ever had a registered failure. Who was the depressed nerd who allowed the weather to be overcast for four straight days? Believe it or not the law, the actual law stated that the weather must not remain overcast longer than 96 hrs, or four days. See, what I got to wonder is why on earth anyone would want the sky to be overcast for more than four hours, let alone four days? Aside from the absurd ability to keep the sky dismal, the AWC has effectively eliminating hurricanes, tornados, flash floods, and hail for the past century. They hold that proudly, and of course because of this “heroism”, they are allowed to make it “Crappy” for the four day period and then, the sun returns.
The populous whined, “Ooh, if we could just control the weather we could make it rain for thirty minutes once a week to keep the ground fed and alive; rain would never be a problem again.
Well, we can control the weather; and you wanna know what happened? The government screwed it up.

The AWC is a powerful company, and something feared as much as it’s loved. Being able to control the weather is like being able to harness a giant weapon that can obliterate a planet.
If it should fall into the wrong hands that is; such a facility has a powerful security force, practically an army.
The AWC ranks number one for security in the entire galaxy.
In the world we live in, even Caesar himself is ranked number three on that list. Number two is the Galactic Credit Alliance, the only legal and established bank in the known universe. Why is there only one bank, dumb you say? There will never be only one bank?
Wrong, there is actually something called the great Credit War. Where rival banks actually started a lethal war for customer dominancy, and when civilian causalities started to rack up, Caesar ordered the Gladiators (Also known as all military factions under a single name) to end the war. Immediately after all banks except one were shut down; ironically the bank that survived the great Credit War was the same bank that Caesar Henry Arnold held his account…”Uh-huh, real ironic.”

Suddenly the sky lane opened up as cross traffic ceased and a 2008 Nova, Charger zoomed overhead. He watched as its overpowered engine roared loudly. “What a stupid machine” he thought as he shook his head at the ridiculous square shaped body of the “Hot Rod wanna be.”
Who on earth…or any other planet makes a square flying car in an atmospheric condition? No, don’t go there. “They” did not figure out some super magical way to prevent any negative effects, like oh…wind resistance. That’s still a problem folks. “Deal with it.”

His mind slowly drifted from the, as he saw it, ridiculous machine, and returned to what he considered immensely more important. The “Acquisition” of a real vessel; plus the craft he had in mind overshadowed the Charger. The Charger had mid-range capabilities and was unable to leave Earth’s atmosphere or jump system.
What he had his heart set on was not only rated as a long or extra-long range vessel, it flew in space, and it’s even a decommissioned scout vessel. God only knows why it was decommissioned, but that was from a soldier’s point of view, not that of the boy’s in “Higher” positions who said. “That is an outdated piece of war trash; we must make room for our new design.”  Roughly translated as, “We know better than you do. Shut up and do as we say, or we’ll find someone else who will” but I’m sure you knew that.

The day was as previously mentioned, beautiful and he was now across the street standing at the base of an unthinkably large building. He leaned back to see the top of the massive skyscraper. To his surprise, or maybe horror, he couldn’t see the end of the building. It just kept going up. Its large steel frames reeked of that stereotypical “Future” look; except for the bright, reflective, almost inviting windows that if possible, made the delightful blue sky even more….delightful. “Who would build a building of such a magnitude, for what reason?” He looked upon a thick sign with superimposed white letters that proudly boosted the official logo of the Galactic Credit Alliance.
Time was ebbing on and so he turned away from the massive bank and made to cross the street once again. Now that vehicles with wheels were banned due to their extensive safety risks, streets were for show. That way the main populous, or “Retards” as I like to call them, know where to and not to fly. For some reason, he still looked both ways. Once across the street he felt like he’d transitioned worlds. Behind him, the vast sea of oversized buildings and a million aggravated travelers dealing with day to day traffic; to a much more modest, flat almost colorful building. That’s face value though. If you looked left or right, the building didn’t ever seem to end. Like that ridiculous bank building, just on its side.
This facility was on the other hand a military base. More to the point it was “The” military base on the planet; the largest, most powerful armed forces base in this or any another part of the galaxy. It was home to the famous Gladiators. “This installation now actually covered one quarter of earth’s surface. From here the Gladiators can produce fleet after fleet of warships of any kind, at almost any number you pick. The ship graveyard is even kept safely behind its walls. This is where he was headed. His ship was right through the glass doors he saw his reflection in.

He looked tough enough; the year hadn’t been all too good on him. He had a three day beard over his soft jaw line that he hadn’t bother to trim in the last couple days. He saw his cozy dark brown leather jacket in the reflection, it fit him well. You wouldn’t even be able to tell that he had a SATAC side-arm and a digital storage manager on his left wrist that held his waver blade machete, and an arsenal of other weapons. His hair was a sandy brown and as always set to military regulations. Against his appearance his eyes were a bright and focused golden brown.
His gaze gave the impression that he could see through anything with an x-ray like vision. The doors slid seamlessly open to reveal a mono colored open room with a tiled floor. The kind of room you’d expect to see at a car dealership.

“Ronald!” called a tall, broad shouldered, wall of muscle, man with dark red hair. “Did you get the credits?” he asked in a heavy Irish accent and overshadowed Ron in superior height. He must have stood and incredible Six foot five, maybe six foot six.

Ron turned to him and immediately felt an eruption of rage and fierce hatred swell within him; but just as quickly as it came it faded. The man he saw before him was not the man that had torn his world apart, and forever separated him from everyone he had ever loved, and yet, in that strange cosmic way, He was the same man. He nodded to him and they turned to another set of doors across from them. From there they entered an awe inspiring sight. As far as the eye could see was ship after ship, and pile after pile of “Junked” metals. Ron had no intention of looking around, he knew what he was looking for, and now his prize was fifty yards from him. Even before a short, fat, balding, salesman approached to try and sell something else; Ron pointed and said.
“That one”

“You’re kidding!” Riley O’Connor choked.

Interesting Articles Strike Back! [Even more Interesting than last time...]

[HALO: Reach. Audio Perfected]

<--- [I can haz?]

Those clever little writers at Popular Mechanics are really getting on my good side. In a matter of a month they've managed to drop two individual pages solely about the up and coming blockbuster, HALO: Reach.
Now if you remember there was an Article of Interest I had for you a couple weeks ago.

[Marty McLinky: a link from your past-
-, present and your future.] -------> http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/digital/gaming/halo-reach-preview-1955640?click=pm_news
[Also, there's something that's got to be done about your kids...that you haven't had yet.....oooh, awkward.]

That excellent article detailed the power of the "True Skill" system.

Well apparently one article wasn't enough and who am I to complain. [No complaining from you either.]
Today on their website "Popular Mechanics" released this.

[Yeah, this.] ---> "How Halo: Reach Perfected Video Game AudioNo studio pays more attention to sound mixing, effects and scores in video games than Bungie. In Halo: Reach, that focus has become an obsession—and it has turned out a living, changing audio masterpiece."

It's a serious Article that shows how Marty O'Donnel reinvented video game scores. It's a real ego booster for the guy and let's face it, he deserves it. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I've always got some of his work handy and it's playing all day long. Guy makes some of the best music, better than most movies and most games. Check it out, it details exactly how he makes the music, the sound effects and it even has the "Stripey Room."

Also you might not want to miss this, it's in the same vein, but it's a video. YAY NO READING FOR YOU!!!! [Slaker...]

P.A.X. (Penny Arcade Expo) is in full swing and the convention Engine is roaring with all 12 cylinders firing.

Big name developers, comic artists, high quality action figures, toys, memorabilia and enough shiny objects to make every susceptible nerd break down into a seizure of pure nerdy bliss, to which they wake up to the sweet smell of Mountain Dew and Skittles and looking into the reflective faceplate of some dude who dressed up like Darth Vader. (Someone out there just realized they had a life long dream and rushed off to fulfill it at P.A.X.)

Any and all would-be attendees that didn't pre-purchase passes are officially out of luck as the convention is completely sold out. That's no big deal though, most of us didn't get  to go this year. It may not be front row, and you may not get to hear about it first but in the world of the interweb and well paid reporters, web loggers and magazines columnist  have got your back. Either the good ol'boys at 1up, Joysiq, IGN, Game Informer and a dozen other names are there writing it up as it comes out so you can read it and satisfy your "Gamepire" needs by sucking the Sweat & Sourie digital goodness.

Now some of you who made it to P.A.X. are sitting down right now and playing through full levels in the HALO: Reach campaign and are the envy of any big HALO fan around the world.
"It's Amazing, You should have been there!" [I know that's what your saying, just rubbing it in. Next you'll be telling me how sweet this level was, or how awesome that gun was. Well keep it up and I'll be asking how my boot tastes coming from the other end; and no we can't still be friends]

I think it's time I make due on the whole "Short Story" business I mentioned earlier. So below you'll find exactly what you're in for.

       “Unstoppable”
“William C. Allan’s name was used in
                       Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary under ‘Badass.’”

Actions of note:

Boarded a German Panzer and took command before destroying two neighboring Panzer.

Shot and killed a German pilot with his M1911 sidearm in mid flight.

Snuck a Thompson M1A1 aboard his aircraft and proceeded to shoot down six opponent’s mid-flight when he exhausted his Mustang’s ammunition.

When out of ammunition, inverted his plan and flew over a Zero. He used his spent sidearm to smash the canopy and drop in a grenade in before the pilot could escape.

Shot open the canopy of a Zero with his sidearm. Later during the skirmish he spotted the Zero he’d hit. Out of ammunition he flipped his Mustang and hung from his canopy. When he was close enough to the canopy he smashed through the glass and knocked out the pilot with this foot. The Zero spun off and crashed into the ocean.

Fist hand accounts\

 – Lieutenant Winters. “I saw him hook out from a pillar of smoke. He flew that Mustang like a Bat-out-of-hell. He then dove from the plane and it crashed into a Panzer that had our flank. When he hit the ground he unhooked his parachute before gunning down a nearby Kraut. Immediately he policed an Mp41. He proceeded to empty a clip into several riflemen across from him and board a second Panzer. He shot the locks and dropped into the tank and killed its driver and gunner. Now that he commanded the Panzer he turned it on the other two Panzer remaining and destroyed them. At that point we turned the tide and gave him covering fire. When the fight was over he personally checked in with me before reporting back to the field base for his orders.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stay tuned, and keep checking back for more excerpts into the crazy, heroic, over the top life of W.C. Allen as he fights for his life, his friends, and his country. I'm sure many more are to come.
